In any case I've finally managed to have some sit down time and get back to sewing on some new ideas. It's funny how when you finally get the urge to create you can literally go for hours which is exactly what happened last night.  Was good to see that I still had the drive in myself after a few months of not feeling very productive.

p.s. Flickr is telling me I'm nearing my mark of 200 pictures so looks like I'll have to upgrade soon.  At least then I can figure out how to organize everything into neat and tidy folders.

What the Winter Hath Wrought

Winter needs color. So I made some.

These will be in shop by this Saturday.
There are two more pear colors that I'll leave as surprises
but if you look at the top of this picture you can see one ^_^

Pearfect for those snowy days

I'm starting back up on PinPinn in about a week.
Which means more felty goodness in pincushion form will be taking shape soon!
I've layed out a few new color schemes for the Perfect Pear Pincushion
and have been sketching up new plans for Tumus ornaments as well.

Trust me, now's the time to do these things because trying to be super creative during the final quarter of the year is really hard.

I do have two specific goals in mind for Pinpinn:
Keep more things in stock (like the pears and oranges)
and get up to about 15-20 items in the shop.
I've looking back thru the pictures of my pincushions and realized that the
designs have changed slightly and may warrant a new photo shoot just to keep
things updated and fresh. I'm also hoping to add more emery selections too.



I have the time now I just need to keep the drive.

A Shop Update!

You thought I was faking that shop update didn't you, tsk tsk. Have you no faith? I had numerous things to ready to photograph, but like most of us who sell online, taking pictures is really the last thing you want to do. It's personally not my favorite thing either. Despite really really liking photography for some reason having to set things up, reposition, figure out lighting, props even.....it's a bit of a hot mess sometimes. I prefer that instantaneous capture of pictures. Not the processed bits.

BUT even though I drug my feet for a full 3 weeks I finally managed to pull out the light box and snap.

A teaser for Tumus Yes, paisley is back! This would look adorable in a mod nursery, but it's not a toy! Just a decoration ^_^




A peek at Pinpinn This actually has two sayings embroidered on it. It says Sew seeds of love / Sew seeds of hope. I really love this one. I want to make 2 more pincushions with this same theme to kind of make it a "series".



And to make it even better I had so much to take pictures of that I didn't have time to get thru half of it last night. Oh and I was dead tired too. I've been reading alot more lately. I blame the cold snap that all of the Northern Hemisphere is under right now. Though we are scheduled for a warm up above freezing by Wednesday, I think we'll manage to get the Christmas lights down finally!

The Pearfect Holiday

These have been lurking in a pile of "to-sew". I've got a few of them cut out and laying in a neat colorful pile just waiting.
But now I have motivation to get them re-listed on Pinpinn because there have been inquires as to where they've gone and if they will come back.

So Yes, Virginia there will be pears...and oranges.....and lemons.......and apples......


and if time permits maybe some tea, cookies and a few new pincushions that are just as fun and colorful.

And it keeps on coming

Just to give you a heads up, the blog will be going on a long 4 week vacation along with my shops, Tumus & Pinpinn Sept. 25 - Oct. 23 for my wedding.
For my own sanity's sake and those around me I think this is a pretty wise step :lol: Of course Chris thinks I should close this week instead because things are starting to get down to the wire with last minute appointments and meetings with the caterer and cake peoples.

And to top it off Pinpinn keeps selling pincushions entirely too fast. I'd really like to get the shop to 2 pages of inventory, but at this point that's not going to happen. A funny problem to have I suppose.
I listed these two last week and the Blue Bells sold the same night. The Pink and Rose cushion is still up for grabs though!







Tumus also got another front page with the lastest edition of Robins. Someone must really love these guys ^_^

Tuesday Tea + Awesome

Pinpinn scored another FP last night, unbeknownst to me as I was busy working on my large dog ornament order for Tumus which, by the way, is definitely progressing and about 75% done.

It still gives me a feeling of absolute gratitude and joy at having both my shops picked and featured on the front page and in gift guides with good frequency. It's like my hard work is FINALLY paying off. All that gripping and struggling over pictures and practicing over and over, plus refining designs, stitching and new ideas. It's all right there. In one brief moment of unabashed, free promotion.
Woot.

Now to celebrate I'll have a cup of tea:

I'd like to think of tea as a "gentle" wake up call....this morning, however, called for coffee.

Sometimes....It Really IS That Funny

Some mornings are alot like this. You win some, you loose some. Right now the wedding invitations are totally winning all my free time and this makes me sad. I do plan on trying to take at least the next 3 days to diligently plot out 3 more cushions, sew them AND take pictures. But wedding invitations are SLIGHTLY more pressing at the moment.

It's been on the drawing board about what to do with Tumus. I've been pondering it quite hard the last few weeks as a friends on Etsy and IRL can tell you. There may come a point where you have to cut your losses and go with something new. The "new" Tumus has been running circles around in my head, how do I transition, SHOULD I transition or just do a clean cut, will this be a good business move, what on earth do I do with all that inventory? The last part is especially baffling because, not to whine and moan about it, but my beloved bunnies and cats just have not hit like I was convinced they would. This depresses me greatly. I have decided that Tumus will move towards a more seasonal and slightly "primitive" genre.

Not to worry though! The dog ornaments that so many loved last Holiday will still be available thru Tumus with a few more breeds added into the mix :)
