The Lake of Innisfree

This is a lovely poem by W.B Yeats that I like to sing to myself when Winter just
seems to linger in my head and won't leave. Cherish the Ladies did a really wonderful
rendition of this poem in song, but I can't find it anywhere to play it back for you.

I will arise and go now,
And go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there,
Of clay and wattles made;
Nine bean rows will I have there,
A hive for the honey bee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there,
For peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning
To where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a glimmer,
And noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.

I will arise and go now,
For always night and day
I hear lake water lapping
With low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway
Or on the pavements gray,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.

What the Winter Hath Wrought

Winter needs color. So I made some.
These will be in shop by this Saturday.
There are two more pear colors that I'll leave as surprises
but if you look at the top of this picture you can see one ^_^

I've Been Places

And I've been delayed places. If you've been wondering what I've been doing
ask no more. I've been away visiting my sister whose just recently had her
first baby, Mr. Ben. Of course getting to see her turned out to be an
adventure as you can see. But now I'm safe back and the good news is
Mr. Ben
is super cute.

Pearfect for those snowy days

I'm starting back up on PinPinn in about a week.
Which means more felty goodness in pincushion form will be taking shape soon!
I've layed out a few new color schemes for the Perfect Pear Pincushion
and have been sketching up new plans for Tumus ornaments as well.

Trust me, now's the time to do these things because trying to be super creative during the final quarter of the year is really hard.

I do have two specific goals in mind for Pinpinn:
Keep more things in stock (like the pears and oranges)
and get up to about 15-20 items in the shop.
I've looking back thru the pictures of my pincushions and realized that the
designs have changed slightly and may warrant a new photo shoot just to keep
things updated and fresh. I'm also hoping to add more emery selections too.

I have the time now I just need to keep the drive.

The Start of Something Different

Everyone is breaking down their 2010 year. Looking back on it there weren't many small things that happened. Every event of importance was a big deal.

Aaron (brother) came home from Iraq.

Sarah (sister) graduated from college...
surprised us with her announcement that she was pregnant...
Then she moved to Virginia with her husband.

Saw my in-laws in AZ and learned more
about immigration laws and immigrants
than I ever figured I'd learn.

I was laid off from a rather stressful and much loathed job.

Rachel (sister) got engaged...
Then moved an hour away.

I re-opened Tumus and had an incredibly successful season
along with a heck of an opportunity on HGTV's Handmade Holidays.

I spent my first Christmas Day not seeing my family
and cried all morning.

The hubby and I decided that we could make
this year (2011)work even if I stay home and have a baby.

2011 might turn out to be bigger than planned after all.
