Normally strawberries appear closer to the end of April or mid-May, but I saw these in our local grocery store (Trader Joes') and had to get them. It's not every day you see 4lbs of strawberries THIS RIPE at the beginning of April. It's been unseasonably warm this week and looks to stay that way for a while yet. I have to resist the urge to plant flowers that might not be ready to handle a sudden cold snap. It is the midwest after all and our average last frost date isn't until the end of April. So for now I'm sticking with the violas, the pansy and a bucket load of pre-season strawberries.
